CocoFax Online Fax - Making Fax Machines A Thing of The Past

CocoFax is an online fax service provider that can allow you to fax through ANY internet capable device. It can be your phone, computer, tablet, or any other device running any operating system. As long as it has a working internet connection, CocoFax can turn it into a high end fax machine.-

How CocoFax Works

Traditionally, faxing through computer or phone over WiFi isn’t possible because fax signals travel over phone lines only. However, this also calls for the need of a fax machine, paper, toner, and all the maintenance costs that come along with it.

However, through CocoFax, you can send and receive faxes directly through a smartphone or a computer. When you send a fax from these devices, CocoFax intercepts it and translates it to something that a fax machine can read.

Similarly, when someone sends you a fax, CocoFax intercepts it and forwards it to your device instead of a fax machine. Therefore, the need for a phone line or fax machines is totally eliminated. Everything happens through the internet online.

This makes it possible to fax through any device anywhere. In fact, you can even use your iPhone to fax.

Sending Faxes through Web Browser

Step 1: Sign up for CocoFax and avail their 14-day free trial period. When you do, CocoFax will give you the luxury of choosing your own fax number.

14 days free trial

Step 2: Once you have signed up, you will be taken to your dashboard. Click on the ‘Send Fax’ button on the corner of the dashboard.

Step 3: The new fax window will open. You can create your new fax here by filling out these fields:

In the ‘To’ field, you will have to enter the fax number of the receiver. You also have the option to add a note to the fax. The note will appear on top of the receiver’s fax document.

You can also create a cover page to the fax as well. This page appears as the first page on the receiver’s end.

Lastly and most importantly, you can attach the document that you wish to be faxed by the attachment icon. CocoFax supports a wide array of formats, which include: doc, docx, xls, xlsx, png, jpg.

Step 4: Once you have uploaded the document, you can hit the ‘Send’ button. CocoFax will receive the fax and forward it to the fax machine at the fax number you mentioned in the previous step.

Once the fax has been transmitted successfully, CocoFax will send you a confirmation message in the inbox of your dashboard. Even if the fax is not successful, you will get a message about the same.

**The most common reasons for a fax being undelivered are that the receiver’s fax machine is turned off, it is busy, or the fax number you entered is incorrect. Theoretically speaking, there is no error at CocoFax’s end.**

Receiving Faxes through Web Browser

Receiving faxes is even easier than sending them if you are using CocoFax. Once you have signed up for CocoFax as mentioned in the previous section, there is nothing else that you will have to do.

CocoFax will automatically receive the faxes that anyone sends on your fax number (assigned to you by CocoFax). You can check these faxes in the inbox of your dashboard.

Steps to Fax through Email with CocoFax

You can even send out faxes just like you do your emails, right from your email client. You can fax through Gmail, Yahoo, or any email client that you use. All you need is CocoFax.

Sending Fax through Email

Step 1: Register for CocoFax’s free trial period for 14 days. You can choose a fax number of your own choice when you register. Make sure that you register the email address that you would use to send and receive the faxes.

Step 2: When the email address has been registered, go to your email client to send a fax. Click in the option to create a new email. Sending a fax through email is very similar than sending an email itself.

In the ‘To’ field where you generally enter the email address, you will have to type the fax number of the receiver followed by ‘@cocofax.net’. For example, if their fax number is 123456, you will need to enter:

[email protected]

In the Subject field, anything you enter will appear as a note on top of the receiver’s fax document. The email body is the cover page of the fax, and it is optional for you to enter anything here.

Now comes the most important part- the actual fax document. The fax document can be attached to this email from your device. Make sure the document’s name does not have any special character in it. The supported formats are: doc, docx, xls, xlsx, png, jpg.

Step 3: When you have filled out the fields, you can click on the ‘Send’ button. CocoFax will receive the email and dial it as a fax to the receiver.

Once the fax is transmitted successfully, you will get a confirmation email in your email inbox. Even if the fax isn’t successful, you will get an email about the same.

Receiving Fax through Email

Once you have registered your email address on CocoFax, all the faxes that you receive on your fax number get automatically forwarded to your email.

When you open the email notification, the fax document can be found as a pdf attachment to the email.

As you can see, sending or receiving a fax over WiFi is a piece of cake. If you followed this guide step by step, you might’ve already become a pro at it. If you haven’t tried it yet, what are you waiting for?
